The firm has offices in Gauteng and the Western Cape.” The firm was established in the year 2000 to meet the ever-changing and unique business, accounting, consulting and management needs of a South African and African market.

Professional Experience:

Gerhard received his B.Com (Hons) CA (SA) from the Rand Afrikaans University in 1988 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989. He completed his articles with Theron van der Poel/Coopers & Lybrand Chartered Accountants in 1991 and continued as an audit manager.

Besides having gained audit experience in the corporate sector, he also completed training at the South African Revenue Service for 2 years as an Assistant Director, specialising in Income Tax.

Gerhard joined Nedbank in 1994 as a junior manager. During this time he gained extensive experience in the corporate finance and retail banking sectors.

Areas of expertise includes; Risk Management, Internal Audit, Retail Finance, Retail Credit, Fraud Prevention, System Process re-engineering.

Gerhard was Head of Retail Banking Credit, from 2000 to 2004. He was responsible for the architecture and implementation of a new credit application platform in Retail Credit during his tenure.

He was Member of Exco and Opco of Retail Credit Division, Nedbank, and was appointed a Non-Executive Director of SA Fraud Prevention Services – Interbank, from 2002 to 2004.

Gerhard established his own public practice in 2004 and traded as Van Graan & Associates which focussed on the SME sectors, which incorporates accounting, tax affairs, audit, secretarial services, strategic planning and compliance. Practice subsequently joined PKF during 2015 consisting of 5 partners.

Professional Experience

Herman qualified as a Chartered accountant in 2008. He is a director of PKF (VGA) Chartered Accountants Inc. and has a solid background in external audit, internal audit and management accounting.

Since completing his articles, he acted as a lecturer at Forbes Lever Baker Training

Institute for accounting students studying towards their CTA qualifications (BCompt Hons) and worked on a variety of projects including JSE listed entities.

He has extensive exposure to specialist technical assistance to clients relating to PFMA compliance, performance audits, GRAP and IFRS accounting, listing requirements, tax and risk management and Corporate Governance reviews based on King II and King III. He is currently a registered BBBEE auditor, JSE trade desk accredited auditor, reporting accountant specialist and JSE auditor.

  • Prior to joining PKF Rob was the risk assurance lead partner for PwC in Nigeria and before that in South Africa.
  • Rob retired from PwC in July 2016.
  • Rob was the Interim Chief Risk Officer for SAA until November 2018.
  • Rob has also worked as CAE for ESKOM and MTN and been in partnerships in EY, KPMG and Fisher Hoffman Stride (PKF now).
  • Rob is active within the GRC profession serving on the Board of IIA SA from 1995 - 2018 (President 1999 – 2001) and on the IIA global Board, including two terms as a vice-chairman of the Board, from 2001 - 2017.

Professional Experience

Lindi did her Audit traineeship at PKF VGA from 2016-2019.

In January 2019, Lindi travelled abroad for a four-month secondment to New York, where she was on an assignment for SAPRO at a Top 15 US CPA firm assisting with the audit of various financial service engagement clients. Lindi then returned to PKF VGA as an Audit Manager. Lindi joined the PKF VGA partnership in January 2021.

Ntikile is a Director at PKF VGA Advisory Services (PTY) LTD. She was a Director/Partner in the Corporate Governance Services Division at Sizwe Ntsaluba Gobodo for more than 10 years.

 

Career Highlights:

She has more than 20 years’ risk management, internal audit and related experience, working for the three of the big four audit firms: Ernst and Young, PwC and KPMG.

Her experience include managing the outsourced internal audit at a large public entity, providing internal audit and risk management services to various complex and challenging clients, etc.

She has extensive experience in various industries including Financial Services, Mining, Medical Schemes and multiple Public Sector.

She was a Director in charge of both Consulting and Audit projects.

She was apart of the EY team which successfully transformed the Transnet internal Audit Function. The largest internal Audit function in the Continent.

Prior being a consultant, she was part of the Finance team at Anglo American Gold Division and AngloGold Ashanti in the finance and management accounting department.

She was appointed a Senior Manager within the In-house Internal Audit of AngloGold Ashanti.

She later headed the Internal Audit Department of self-administered Medical Scheme (Egolide Health Services) .
